Bright and noble champagne with notes of crème caramel dessert, yellow apple and bread crust. It surprises with its generosity of flavor and variety of tones: from pastry spices to exotic fruits.
It was aged for 36 monts on the lees.
Why Pierre Deville?
It is a small grover Champagne house decided to pursue his own champagne production and stopped selling grapes to the cooperative since 1963. The house has only 5 hectares of vineyards located in the highest altitude village of Verzy Grand Cru in the Montagne de Reims sub-region Today, Alban Corbeaux, a young and talented winemaker, continues his great-grandfather's business.
Nowdays Alban made a lot to developed his own style including:
- Spearheaded the move to an organic approach to winemaking without the use of chemical fertilizers
- The only winemaker to have trees growing in Verzy Vineyards
- Creates about 20,000 to 30,000 bottles a year with the unique, full, bright and mineral character of Pinot noir
- Built all the processes in the winery on the gravity principle
- Started to age his champagne in absolutely similar barrels composition as the legendary wine from Bordeaux - Chateau Petrus
- Has come to the conclusion that grapes should be picked in small boxes of 4-5 kg, so that they do not spoil under their own weight
- Has the best vineyard plots in the village, where the soil consists of delicate chalk, which gives the Champagne its unique style
