Leader of the modern renaissance of Chianti Classico, a classic which has always maintained character and authenticity through time, becoming a reference for the category.

Today, the Chianti Classico from “Isole e Olena” ranks amongst the top 2 000 wines in the world according to Wine Searcher. It is one of the ten Chianti wines, ahead of many Riserva wines from other producers.

The estate vineyards, situated in the San Donato in Poggio area at an altitude of 300–480 metres above sea level, are effectively nestled within a protected nature reserve, surrounded by woodland and olive groves. The ‘Galesto’ soil, consisting of a mixture of limestone, clay shale and marl, is typical of Chianti Classico. The vines range in age from 10 to 50 years.

This wine is produced from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Canaiolo. Fermented in stainless steel tanks to maintain purity and freshness, it ages in big casks for 12 months plus 6 months in bottle. The wine has been produced with minimal intervention and develops in the bottle for 2–3 days after opening.

Aromas: raspberry, sage, sweet balsamic, rooibos.
Palate: smooth texture, red berries, fruit drink, cranberry acidity.
