The Les Chetillons vineyard, with vines ranging from 35 to 70 years old, is located in the Mesnil-sur-Oger Grand Cru village.
Produced since 1971 from 2.5 hectares of vineyards, it was the first Prestige Cuvée within the Special Club (Club Tresors de Champagne), created by Francois Peters. It is symbolic that in the same year, the Krug house purchased the 1.84-hectare Clos du Mesnil plot, which had previously been known as Clos Tarin and belonged to Moët & Chandon, but had fallen into disrepair.
This Champagne is complex and persistent. Turn off your brain and let your mind relax, and you’ll experience it in its full, vulnerable glory: yellow and white flowers, jasmine, fresh lemon juice, chalk, roasted coffee beans, white peach, almond milk, and cream. This is just a small part of what your imagination will be capable of. Incredible. The benchmark of elegance in taste. Smoothness and purity. Grape skin, butter, hazelnuts and mandarin, sweet fruits and pastries, croissants. High concentration, high complexity, an endless finish. And now return to the human world.
